Cades Cove Maternity Session

Meet Cortland! A STUNNING mom-to-be who wanted a gorgeous Smoky Mountain maternity session while her and her family stayed in a cabin in Gatlinburg TN. She is one outdoorsy godess, so we chose to do her session in Cades Cove ( on a frigid day, not that she shows it!!!).

Seriously, it was middle of winter, below freezing, and she toughed out her Gatlinburg photography session like a pro model! I couldn’t have done it. I myself was in a coat!

I love the woodland feel that photographing in Cades Cove gives; it just magical. Here’s my faves!!!

What to wear??? That's the question on everyone's mind when they book a Knoxville maternity session. Wardrobe can make a break your session, and while you're expecting, wardrobe can be even more of a challenge. I remember when I was pregnant, finding clothes I liked, that fit was a struggle, let alone maternity clothes that fit well enough for my maternity pictures. There's tons of beautiful maternity gown designers, like Sew Trendy, but they can get pricey for just one wear, especially if you want a few different styles.

I saw this dilemma firsthand and watched a lot my maternity clients struggle to feel amazing in their outfits, so I did something; I created my client closet.

I currently have over 50 maternity gowns in a range of sizes and styles for you to rent, at no cost, for your maternity session. I've curated these to have amazing options that photograph beautifully. I'm so excited to be able to offer these gowns to make your maternity experience that much better. What Mama doesn't want to feel like a princess for at least a day?

Jessica and Kent's Knoxville Botanical Garden Session

The Carringers Knoxville maternity session could not have turned out more perfectly! Simply put, the rsults are awesome! Kent contacted me back around the holidays, to purchase a maternity and newborn session for his wife for Christmas. I have to give him kudos for thinking of portraits as a gift; so thoughtful.

Everyone was a bit concerned about the weather and foliage for the session with the up and down weather we've been having here in East Tennessee over the past few weeks. The day of was BEAUTIFUL, warm for early March, and a few of the trees and bushes were already in bloom. Kent and Jessica were awesome and had some great input for backdrops that I was able to incorporate with my own.

I can't wait to meet their new addition next month!

Can I just take a moment to tell you how much I love repeat clients? Watching little ones grow up and families change is one of the biggest perks of my job. This beautiful family, I have had the pleasure of photographing for a year and a half. When Sarah told me she was pregnant, I was so excited for them, especially little Landon getting to be a big brother! Sarah's maternity session was magical, and Landon was such a patient, handsome little prince <3

*Super secret photographer tip* We did the must have toddler poses first, so little man could go play when his attention was used up.

Knoxville Maternity Clothes

One of the biggest challenged my mama's have for their maternity session is what to wear! I really want you to feel beautiful for your maternity session, and I know struggling with maternity clothes in Knoxville ( with our tiny selection of stores) does not make that easy. I have ordered over 40 custom maternity gowns exclusively for my clients, so you can feel your very best. Sarah was so kind as to model a few extras for me during her session, so I could show them off to you all.

Check out her session!

Meet Brittany. A soon to be mommy of two! Isn't she absolutely radiant? I just love everything about her Knoxville maternity session.

We planned for golden hour at Volunteer Landing, right by the river. It's an adorable little urban park, that I just love for sessions. It was the perfect spot for Brittany's maternity pictures before her family moves out of the area; a great memento of Knoxville. I had a great time getting to know her and her family.

She wore both my Emma sequin maternity angown, and my Poppy gown with tossing train. Both are available for rent for your very own maternity session. Rental is absolutely free when you book your session with me. You deserve to feel gorgeous for your maternity pictures <3.

This first one is the Emma, it looked fabulous on Brittany!

Next, she wore the strapless Poppy gown. That blue, paired with the water and the birdges in the background... I just LOVE it!

On Mother's Day, I had the opportunity to meet the lovely MaryEllen, who is expecting her first sweet baby, a girl, next month. I had an idea for some beautiful maternity pictures, and this adventurous mom-to-be helped me make it happen!

Mountain Maternity Pictures

I ADORE the mountains, and I was so excited to do a session with such a stunning backdrop. We met at spot not too far out of the city, with an amazing view, and beautiful cliffs. This place is breathtaking!! I could spend all day there just taking in the view.

This view, plus a sunset was perfection! I don't think you can take a more beautiful maternity picture in Knoxville!

The mountains compliment her beautiful, pregnant glow so well.

Rustic Maternity Portrait

When I think of the Smoky Mountains, I think of rustic. I knew going in I wanted a rustic maternity portrait in black and white as one of the final products from this session. I love the velvety look of the mountains in black and white and the twisted pine. It's just perfect!

I had so much fun with this session, and meeting MaryEllen. What a wonderful way to spend Mother's Day!
